In the years ahead, the future of transportation around Minot will demand careful choices — and tradeoffs. A new draft plan lays out more than $300 million in potential roadwork and mobility improvements through 2050, yet federal funding will cover only about half that amount. Officials are now asking the public: what matters most — reconstruction or congestion relief? The plan’s goal is clear: safer, better-connected routes for drivers, cyclists, pedestrians, and freight alike. Your input will help shape how Minot moves forward. Jill Schramm with Minot Daily News has the full story.

In downtown Fargo, young chefs are sharpening more than just knives — they’re building kitchen confidence at The 1889’s week-long Cooking 101 camp. Kids are learning everything from handmade pasta to baking brownies, all while picking up culinary lingo they’ll carry for years to come. The joy is clear: instructors say watching students light up as they master new skills makes it all worthwhile. It’s a reminder that a little hands-on time in the kitchen can spark lifelong curiosity — and some tasty results. Drew Berg with InForum has the full story.

Passengers on Delta flight DL3788 from Minneapolis to Minot got an unexpected jolt when their plane had to take evasive action to avoid a B-52 bomber near Minot. The jet made sharp turns and circled the airport several times before landing safely. While passengers stayed calm, many sensed something was wrong. After landing, the pilot explained the close call and thanked them for their patience. The incident is now drawing attention as travelers reflect on how quickly a routine flight turned tense. Rosyln Bilyeu with KMOT has the full story.

In a tightening economy, even creativity feels the pinch — and Minot’s Taube Museum of Art is no exception. With key grants delayed and a signature fundraiser retired, the Taube faces rising costs and fewer reliable funding streams. Yet the mission remains: offering free exhibitions, programs for seniors, and a welcoming space for artists. Their upcoming block party on August 9 isn’t just a celebration — it’s a lifeline. In these uncertain times, sustaining spaces for art and connection may depend on renewed local support. Jill Schramm with Minot Daily News has the full story.
