MINOT, ND- The Souris Valley Sabre Dogs got their fourth win in a row Saturday night as they defeated the Hub City Hotshots 5-0. The Sabre Dogs current four-game win streak is the longest of the season, and they are now at a season-high three games over .500.

What a way for the Dogs to start the second half. Solid hitting, great pitching, and consistent defense all were going for the Sabre Dogs Saturday. It was all about Bradley Spooner on the mound as he went the distance, striking out nine batters and allowing just six hits and three walks. Spooner’s shutout is the second of the season for the Dogs. His already low ERA just got even lower as it went from 0.43 to 0.30
after Saturday.

When asked about the team’s performance during their win streak, Spooner said, “We’re feeling good. Our hitters are hitting good, and we’re pitching well. If we get the back of the bullpen going again which has had a couple bad outings, we’re on point.”

The offense did enough for the win as they were led by Mason Dinesen who went 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI, and Josh Paino who went 2-for-3 with two runs, an RBI, and three stolen bases.

The Sabre Dogs will try to improve their win streak to five games Sunday. First pitch is at 5:35 p.m.
