MINOT, ND- Bradley Spooner completed a no-hitter Friday night as the Souris Valley Sabre Dogs won 15-0 against the Wheat City Whiskey Jacks to complete the three-game series sweep. The Sabre Dogs have now won eleven games in-a-row, and they remain in solo-first place.

Bradley Spooner had an unbelievable day with a season-high twelve strikeouts with his no-no. The only thing that was separating him from a perfect game was a hit-by-pitch in the top of the fifth with no outs. This performance marks the first ever no-hit bid in league history.

Spooner when asked about head coach Corey Thompson’s decision to let him go the distance, despite a relatively high pitch count, he said, “Coach told me after I came in from the seventh inning that I had the rest of the game. It’s awesome to have a coach that has confidence in you to go out there knowing he trusts you.”

This was Spooner’s second complete game shutout IN-A-ROW. Spooner’s confidence in his team and himself are through the roof after their eleventh straight win.

“We are playing at the highest level we can be. We are going into more games with our confidence as high as ever. We are getting hits more, we are pitching better, and confidence is at an all-time high.”

The offense for the Sabre Dogs wasn’t bad either with the second-most hits (18) and the second-most runs (15) of the season. Every Sabre Dog that came to the plate got a hit Friday night. Bo McClintock hit a long-ball for the second straight night, and he also had two doubles to go with it. Phillip Childs has been sizzling-hot as of late. He got his third multi-hit performance in-a-row with a 3-for-6 night with 3 RBI.

The Sabre Dogs will take their winning streak on the road to take on the Casper Horseheads who swept them a couple weeks ago. First pitch on Saturday will be at 7:35 p.m.
