ND House Passes Bill Revising Hunting, Fishing License Fees

The North Dakota House of Representatives has passed House Bill 1470 with a vote of 64-25-5, advancing it to the Senate for consideration. This legislation proposes adjustments to various hunting, fishing, and related activity fees within the state.
Key changes outlined in the bill include:
- Resident Licenses:
- Small Game Hunting License: Increase from $10 to $20.
- Big Game Hunting License: Increase from $30 to $35; for licensees under 16, the fee remains at $10.
- Fur-bearer License: Increase from $15 to $20.
- Fishing License: Increase from $16 to $25; for residents aged 65 and over, totally or permanently disabled individuals, and disabled veterans with a 50% service-connected disability, the fee rises from $5 to $10.
- Husband and Wife Fishing License: Increase from $22 to $40.
- Wild Turkey Permit: Increase from $15 to $20.
- Taxidermy License: Increase from $25 to $40.
- Motorboat Certificate and License:
- For motorboats under 16 feet and all motorized canoes: increase from $18 to $30.
- For motorboats 16 feet to under 20 feet: increase from $36 to $45.
- For motorboats 20 feet and over: increase from $45 to $60.
- Nonresident Licenses:
- Small Game Hunting License: Increase from $100 to $150.
- Big Game Hunting and Bow Licenses: Increase from $250 to $350.
- Fishing License: Increase from $45 to $60.
- Nongame Hunting License: Increase from $15 to $25.
- Fur-bearer and Nongame Hunting License: Increase from $40 to $50.
- Husband and Wife Fishing License: Increase from $60 to $100.
- Short-term Three-day Fishing License: Increase from $25 to $40.
- Short-term Ten-day Fishing License: Increase from $35 to $50.
- Wild Turkey Permit: Increase from $80 to $100.
- Swan License: Increase from $30 to $50.
- Professional Licenses and Permits:
- Resident Professional Gun Dog Trainer Permit: Increase from $10 to $20.
- Fishing Outfitter License:
- Resident fee increase from $100 to $250.
- Nonresident fee increase from $400 to $500.
- For those already holding a hunting guide or outfitter license in the same year, the resident fee increases from $50 to $125, and the nonresident fee from $200 to $250.
These proposed fee adjustments aim to support wildlife management and conservation efforts in North Dakota. The bill now awaits action in the Senate.
