MINOT, ND- The Souris Valley Sabre Dogs won their eighth game in-a-row against the Wheat City Whiskey Jacks with an 8-2 win Wednesday night. The #DogsAreHot after winning their ninth game in-a-row, and continue lead the Lewis Division.

Everything, once again, was working for the Dogs Wednesday night. Starting pitcher Zavian Caldwell went five innings of solid work, and remains one of the most consistent starters in the league. He gave up four walks, four hits, and two runs while striking out eight Whiskey Jacks. Cody Waters was the only reliever needed as he pitched in his best game yet, and that’s saying something. The theme of his relief
effort was patterns. In his first two innings, all of his outs were on strikeouts. In the eighth, all of his outs were flyouts to center fielder Luke Quick, and his final inning, he struck out everyone. He finished with three walks, two hits, and no earned runs with nine strikeouts.

As for the bats, they continued to produce. Wednesday’s hitting performance was led by Phillip Childs who went 4-for-4. He became the second Sabre Dog to hit perfect on the day with more than three at bats. Chauncey Callier continued his dominance with two more doubles (18, 19). Justin Henle was able to give the offense a spark in the early innings with a two-run home run, and Josh Paino continued to hit
well with a 2-for-3 effort with two runs and an RBI.

Sabre Dogs will attempt to win the series Thursday, July 4th, at 4:35 p.m.
