The island is Socotra, and you’ll find it in the Arabian Sea of the coast of Yemen and Somalia. Because of when it separated from mainland Africa, life there has evolved largely on its own and the island is home to roughly 700 species found nowhere else on the planet. The trees, in particular, seem like they are not of this world.
