I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts, and beer.

Everyone knows Abraham Lincoln as the 16th president and the man who led us through the Civil War and the abolition of slavery, but one of his lesser known traits was his light-hearted sense of humor.  In this short article from the New Yorker, you get a sense of his quick wit, along with some modern perspective and few insightful comments as well.
