As an un-settler of custom, there is nothing like war. In the British munitions factories, where thousands of women are employed, skirts have been discarded in favor of overalls. The latter have been found so practicable that women in many other lines of employment have adopted them. Today “jeans” are seen in the kitchen, the gardens and in all lines of industry.

Why We Chose It
Before we had arguments about diversity, equity, and inclusion, we had arguments about what clothes women could wear while they were working. Our local editor sniffed this out as stupid all those years ago and we’re happy to continue the tradition. We should focus our attention and efforts on more meaningful issues.
