Foreclosure case involving former EPIC CEO headed for trial
A high-profile foreclosure case tied to the former CEO of EPIC Companies is headed to trial in Ward County on February 2, 2026. Bravera Bank is seeking nearly $3 million in unpaid mortgage payments from Henry Land Holdings, a subsidiary of EPIC Holdings. Former CEO Todd Berning is among the defendants. EPIC Companies filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in July 2024, and Berning also faces a separate civil suit in Cass County over more than $300,000 in disputed investments.
