Minot, ND – Construction continues on Phase MI-6 of the Mouse River Enhanced Flood Protection Project (MREFPP), with another key road closure scheduled to support critical infrastructure improvements in the area. This closure will enable crews to continue construction of essential flood control features within this high-traffic area with better safety for crews and the public.

Starting Monday, July 14, Central Avenue will be closed between 4th Street NE and 6th Street NE to allow for continued flood protection work. This road closure is expected to remain in place throughout the summer with planned re-opening on Wednesday, August 28.

During the closure:

  • Access will be maintained to ALL local businesses within the work area.
  • No through traffic will be allowed on Central Avenue between 4th Street NE and 6th Street NE.
  • Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes and plan for potential delays in the area.

Residents traveling in vehicles and pedestrians are encouraged to use alternate routes and plan for delays. For real-time updates, visit the City of Minot’s Traffic Impact Map.
