At present many of the faculty members have living quarters in Pioneer hall, formerly used as a girl’s dormitory. Accommodating the teachers in the hall has allowed the college to cut off $18,000 in their appropriations. While the standard of living is comfortable, Dr. McFarland stated that the faculty desire a greater freedom in living quarters. Rent for quarters in the dormitory is deducted from the teachers’ salaries.

Why We Chose It
Hard times hit the state's universities hard, but MSU found a way to tighten the belt and save legislators a good bit of money, but they were still hoping to keep the place looking nice and improve the facilities.
