On This Day | War is Expensive

The cost of firing a single round of the largest calibre artillery is given on good authority as $2,030.10 which is as much as an average skilled workman earns for an entire year’s work, or the cost of a small modest new home. The $2,000 investment in artillery fire is gone in a flash to say nothing of the probable destruction at the other end. War is so senseless, expensive and inhuman.
