Editorial: Russia just said it doesn’t want peace. This is what you need to do
Russia’s recent admission that it has no interest in ending the war in Ukraine didn’t shock Ukrainians — they’ve lived the reality all along. What’s staggering is the lack of meaningful response from the West. A brief Kremlin-imposed ceasefire revealed a painful truth: Russia could stop the killing at any time — it just chooses not to. In the editorial the Kyiv Independent makes a blunt appeal to U.S. lawmakers: if peace matters, prove it — stop appeasing and start acting.
