51-year old Emil Simonson, rural Berthold farmer, was sentenced by District Judge Eugene A. Burdick to a term of three to five years in the State Penitentiary on a charge of negligent homicide, in connection with a traffic accident in which the founder of the Non-Partisan League, A. C. Townley was killed.
