On This Day | Building Boom Minot Leading the Housing Race

Since January 1, 267 building permits have been issued including 175 new houses; 35 houses moved in; 25 apartments for college; and 36 apartment buildings. Only 25 per cent of these units will be completed this year because of the lack of building materials; however, 128 of 175 of these dwellings will be lived in before winter. IT was found that there are 402 inadequately housed people, and that there are 63 people working in Minot, but who live in neighboring towns. Fifty families are living at the trailer camp operated by the Association of Commerce since November, 1945, and although there is a waiting list, families with children can get a trailer within 30 days.
