Henry Tyge of Epworth tells a good story about his intelligent dog. Henry saw the family dog busily engaged at some work in the middle of a large field. He saw the dog pawing the dirt and packing it down. The dog would visit the field each day and on the third day its master’s curiosity caused him to visit the field. There he found that the dog had buried one of his hens alive, leaving the head out of the ground. The hen was taken home, no worse for her experience.
