Saturday night at the Buffalo Tap in Minot an oil promoter took a $5 bill and affixed it to his drink check with a piece of Scotch tape and affixed them to the back bar mirror with a piece of Scotch tape and announced that it was the beginning of a fund for the Ward County (and national) Infantile Paralysis chapter, and that it would be stopped when it reached $50. In jig time other customers attached $1 each to their drink checks with Scotch tape and affixed them to the mirror until $50 was reached. Then Gordon Miller county polio chapter chairman was called and asked if the chapter wanted the $50. Miller descended from his law and construction company office across the street and took the $50 for the benefit of the youngsters stricken with the dread crippler, polio.
