On This Day | Lighting Finds Sleeping Boy

Chester, 12-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Felix Kowalski, residing near Carrington, was killed several days ago when lightning struck the bedroom in which he was sleeping. A stovepipe was near the bed and it was this object which the lightning hit. The bedclothes caught fire and the boy’s back and arms were badly burned. The boy was rushed to a Carrington hospital, but died within 20 minutes after reaching the city.
