Why We Chose It

It may have been North Dakota’s first foray into value-added primary sector economic development. It was a swing for the fences with all the money in play. And it failed. We’ve been learning this lesson over and over again on the prairie . . . what would happen if we started small? How many cows and how many butchers does it take to feed 500 people?

Our economic development musings aside, history tends to change as its passed up through the years. This article was a chance to reset the sequence back to an earlier established truth.
