Why We Chose It
Oh how wise we were. It seems our forefathers understood the economic principles of supply, demand, and pricing. And they knew they could “create” more parking through the simple act of charging for it. No need to build giant parking garages, just add meters and the public will start to sort themselves out.
Did you know North Dakota is the only state that makes on-street parking meters illegal? That happened after this event above. It’s exactly like socialized, government mandated, publicly-funded (but not free) parking. Except the streets aren’t free to build, and neither is keeping them clean.
