On This Day | Noting the Passing of Halloween’s Past

My attention was called to the fact Thursday night that that was Hallowe’en. I had neglected to hide the wheelbarrow, the lawn chairs and the ash cans which I proceeded to do early in the evening. I was sure that the storm windows would all get marked up with soap. The only “disturbance” about the place during the whole evening was a visit from half a dozen of the little neighbor youngsters who came with lighted pumpkins and masks and dressed like little witches. They paraded thru the house and as they filed out one of the little girls purposely dropped her mask so I could learn who she was.
