The two large boxes containing the Roosevelt equestrian statue donated by Dr. Henry Waldo Coe were opened Saturday afternoon at Riverside Park in the presence of Chairman James Johnson and other members of the general committee. An inspection of the statue was made by Chairman Johnson and Superintendent of Parks Doolittle and it was found that all parts, bolts, etc., were intact and no injury had been received in shipment. The boxes were again closed and the statue is now in charge of the park board for placement.
