On This Day | The Local Price Was High

We have just learned that your son Henry has made the supreme sacrifice while fighting for his country on the battle front in France. The news will be painful to you, for Henry was a fine young man and you were proud of him. But he died a glorious death and has earned immortal honor for himself, for you and for his country. By giving his life for the cause he has placed us under everlasting obligation to himself, to you and to all else that he held dear. We wish, both for ourselves and for the Normal School, to acknowledge this obligation to you at this time.
