16 applicants declare interest in vacant city council seat
Sixteen Minot residents are vying for the chance to fill the city council seat left open after Mark Jantzer’s election as mayor. The council will meet Tuesday, Sept. 2, to hear from the applicants, though a final decision could come later. The list of contenders is as diverse as it is long—ranging from longtime council veteran Stephan Podrygula to students, business owners, and community volunteers. Whoever is chosen will hold the seat until June 2026, helping steer Minot through its next chapter. Jill with Minot Daily News has the full story and short introduction to each applicant.
