Archer Aviation begins piloted air taxi test flights
A new kind of taxi just took to the skies—this time with a pilot onboard. Archer Aviation, the California-based company developing electric air taxis, completed its first crewed test flight of the Midnight aircraft after more than 400 autonomous runs. The sleek, vertical takeoff craft soared over Salinas at 125 mph and 1,500 feet, hitting key milestones on the path toward FAA certification.
