Bismarck Says ‘No’ to Backyard Chickens
For now, Bismarck’s backyard dreams of farm-fresh eggs are on hold. City commissioners have once again said no to allowing chickens within city limits, ending an appeal that sought to loosen long-standing restrictions. The decision followed concerns about fire hazards and the challenges of managing loose hens. While rural residents can still raise their flocks freely, those inside the city will have to keep their coops—and their omelets—on pause. Tyler Pflibsen with KX News has the full story.
