Farm Solar Faces Setback as Federal Program Scales Back Support
For two decades, the Rural Energy for America Program has helped farmers cut costs and earn extra income by installing solar panels. That era is ending. The Trump administration has moved to block funding for most farm-based solar, barring large ground-mounted arrays and disqualifying projects that use components from China — which is nearly all of them.
