The race for Minot’s next mayor is officially underway, with four candidates qualifying for the August 5 special election ballot.

Following a random draw on Monday, the candidates will appear in the following order:

Josiah Roise, Mark Jantzer, Paul Pitner, Rob Fuller

Each candidate submitted the required minimum of 300 petition signatures, which were verified by city officials.

Candidates are required to file campaign finance disclosures between June 27 and July 4.

The winner of the special election will serve the remainder of the current mayoral term, which runs through June 2026. To continue beyond that, the elected mayor would need to run again in the regular 2026 election.
