Turtle Mountain tribe to hold coyote hunt from November-December
Coyote numbers are climbing on the Turtle Mountain Reservation, and tribal wildlife officials say the impact on young deer and upland birds is becoming hard to ignore. Now the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians is turning to a month-long incentive hunt, inviting tribal members — and approved non-members — to help rebalance local wildlife. With clear rules, safety requirements, and small payments for each verified harvest, the effort aims to protect the species most affected while keeping the hunt responsible and closely managed.
