‘We tried:’ Grand Forks casino idea is dead for now, mayor says
The plan to bring a tribal casino to Grand Forks has quietly stalled—maybe for good. After early momentum and city support, the proposal hit a wall in the state Legislature, which refused to lift a key legal restriction. That vote effectively shelved a project projected to create 800 jobs and generate tens of millions in revenue.
