US Men’s Sled Hockey team holds Paralympic Games tryouts in Minot
Minot is hosting some of the best sled hockey players in the world this week, as Team USA holds tryouts for the 2026 Paralympic Winter Games. More than 30 athletes are vying for 17 spots, under the leadership of head coach David Hoff of Bottineau. A high school math teacher turned national coach, Hoff says the sport’s speed and skill have never been higher. For him, it’s also about showing North Dakotans what adaptive athletes can do—on the ice and beyond.
