Minot’s iconic “Big M” building—a vacant, eight-story former bank—has been stripped to its shell and relisted for sale. EPIC Companies bought it in December 2021 and began converting it into mixed-use space but filed for bankruptcy last year. The city and school district backed the project with a 20-year Tax Increment Financing plan to fund asbestos removal via $2.55 million in bonds. Taxes covering those bonds are current through 2024, though a portion of 2025 taxes is overdue. With EPIC out, Minot now waits to see who will pick up the torch and go. Jill Schramm with Minot Daily News has the full story.
