The Minnesota State Fair, a beloved tradition known for its food and festivities, is adjusting its ticket prices. This year, admission at the gate will cost $20, up from $18. The fair board explains this increase will fund $20.1 million in improvements, notably at the Warner Coliseum, and enhanced security measures. While the fair remains independently funded, it’s essential to note public safety costs have doubled since 2019. Early birds can snag discounted tickets for $15 until January 26th. Last year, the fair welcomed over 1.9 million visitors.

Why does it matter in Minot? It’s a place to compare our selves. There’s been no news on ND State Fair admission prices for 2025, but bringing Jelly Roll back seems to be a popular decision. The 2024 admission prices where $10 and a the ‘season’ pass that provided admission all nine days was just $25. So, North Dakota to Minnesota comparison, we’ve got a heck of a value right here in Minot’s back yard.
