On This Day | Before it Was the Dam Yacht Club

The Riverdale Boat Club has adopted a project of assistance to the growing number of small craft operators who take their vacations sailing up and down the Missouri River. The chief task involved is providing the motive power and trailer needed to transport boats around Garrison Dam. Other services entail information as to fueling, camping and refreshment spots along the shores of the reservoir and on the open river between Riverdale and Bismarck.

Why We Chose It
For those who are uninitiated, yes, there was a "Dam Yacht Club," and while it has been some years since it was active, there are a few wind baggers and gas guzzlers who know its history still tooling around on the big water.
