There are a few topics which we kick for as long as it takes… vaccines and why earlier generations were willing to trust them is one of them. And in this case, as it was throughout papers of our early years — the risk was polio. It would be 25 years more before we had a vaccine, and parents lined their kids up for it when it arrived because the alternative was much worse.
