It's still a good yarn . . . and true . . . a Minot man, a few years back . . . had never been deer hunting . . . had nobody to go with . . . got into his car . . . drove to Velva . . . turned north to the first road east . . . drove a half mile . . . saw a fine buck standing in a pasture . . . unslung his new rifle . . . fired once . . . drove into the pasture and loaded up his kill . . . was back in Minot in one hour .
