The hour parking district has been created to keep the town people from using up all the street parking space all day—for if they don’t want to walk or use the bus and want to be stylish there’s several good garages close by that would be glad to have their business.

Why We Chose It

It was not long after we had cars that we had challenges figuring out where to put them. Henry Ford threw a big, oily hunk of metal into our downtown environment that previously dominated by horses and people, and that’s when we started grumbling. And we grumble yet today. We all have opinions, we demand close parking places that we don’t want to pay for so we simply hide the way we pay for them. And yet we grumble, grumble, grumble. If only there were a way to price parking so that those who wanted it close could pay for it, and those who wanted to work for it could walk for it? That’s probably a problem to big for our day an age, or that could just be our cynicism showing.
