The Great Northern of course does not care for Minot, or any other city for that matter, and it is a cold blooded business proposition with them. A few years ago Minot gave the Great Northern every old thing she asked, allowed them to close certain streets for all time to come, and of course the excuse that was made at the time, was that Jim Hill had his eye on Minot and would do things for this city. Instead, the foxy old boy is doing things to Minot and about the only way we can make him be good, is to get the bulge on him and make him recognize us. Of course Mr. Hill has done us a number of favors of late such as tearing out the city’s new bridge across the Mouse river at Anne street, and we cannot help but feel friendly to this company for the life long favor.
