The revised plan would add a large reservoir, to store up water during the season of high water, and some persons interested in the subject believe the reservoir would store so much water that the project would insure control of the highest flood waters. A continuous flow of water thru Minot would be assured, perhaps eliminating the problem of handling the discharge from the sewage disposal plant here.

Why We Chose It

The last time we talked flood protection in this column it wasn't that many days ago in 1927... That was a channelization project; now we've moved on to the upstream reservoir. And it's worth noting that the reservoir did soon come to pass, but it's effectiveness in protecting from floods was greatly diminished by the time it was delivered.
