J. N. “Ding” Darling, noted cartoonist, and former chief of the U. S. biological survey left Minot Saturday to return to his home in Des Moines, Iowa, after viewing the Upper and Lower Souris refuges. Darling, for whom the lake at the Foxholm dam was named, was much impressed with the Souris projects and listed them as the outstanding wild life refuges in the United States.
