At a special election Tuesday, Minot citizens voted to have the city levy 2.5 mills to finance a supervised recreation program. Unofficial count of votes as of Wednesday morning was 717 yes and 262 no.

Why We Chose It
In 1947 we voted to add recreation and support it with property tax. In 2025 we voted against removing property tax and shifting funding of park district improvements to sales tax. In some ways, these are very different times indeed.
