County Commission hears budget requests
Budget season brings a steady stream of requests, and this week the Ward County Commission heard from familiar faces. The North Dakota State Fair is asking for $300,000 next year — holding steady with its current funding. Other local groups, from Kenmare’s community development efforts to regional grant-matching needs, also made their case. At the same time, county leaders received an update on opioid treatment programs, where state grants and settlement funds may help keep vital services running despite federal cuts.
