Election Day for MAYSA Fieldhouse Half Penny Sales Tax
Author

Today is the final day of voting for the special election to add a 1/2 cent sales tax that will be used by Minot Park District to support construction of a fieldhouse at the MAYSA arena location.
The proposal includes language that would reduce the Park District’s property tax levy by approximately 40% for the next twenty years if the sales tax is approved. Additionally, it would shift funding for facilities such as the Jack Hoeven Baseball Complex, the Auditorium, Corbett Field, MAYSA Arena, and the Roosevelt Park Zoo to funding from sales tax as well.
Voting location is at the Municipal auditorium in the Armory; polls are open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. More information can be found in the Park District’s fact sheet provided below.
