Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Southwest Minot

A fatal motorcycle crash occurred in southwest Minot on the evening of June 23, according to the Minot Police Department.

Authorities responded to the incident at approximately 7:57 p.m. at 800 37th Avenue SE, where a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle were involved in a collision.

Preliminary findings indicate that a 2021 Yamaha YZF-R3 motorcycle was traveling eastbound at a high speed when the rider lost control while approaching a curve. The motorcycle crossed into the westbound lane and was struck by a 2025 Dodge Ram 1500.

The motorcycle rider, a 26-year-old male from Velva who was wearing a helmet, sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the Dodge Ram, a 35-year-old male Minot resident, suffered minor suspected injuries.

Emergency personnel from the Minot Police Department, Minot Fire Department, and Trinity First Response arrived at the scene. Weather and road conditions were reported as good at the time of the crash.

The incident remains under investigation. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of family.
