Fire at Baymont Hotel in Minot Quickly Contained, No Injuries Reported

A fire at the Baymont Hotel in southwest Minot was quickly extinguished on Monday, June 2, following a response from the Minot Fire Department. Crews were dispatched to the hotel, located at 1609 35th Ave. SW, at approximately 3:22 p.m. after receiving reports of a fire in a storage room.
Upon arrival, firefighters determined that the building’s sprinkler system had successfully contained and extinguished the fire. Fire crews conducted a thorough search to ensure all occupants had safely exited the building and began ventilation efforts to clear residual smoke.
Due to the fire and resulting conditions, hotel guests were informed that they would not be able to remain on the premises until necessary repairs were completed and a building inspection had been conducted. Firefighters assisted guests in retrieving personal belongings before they left the scene.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
