Fire Department Rescues Occupant and Dogs from Minot House Fire

At 3:33 p.m. on August 12, the Minot Fire Department responded to reports of smoke coming from a residence in the 500 block of 6th Avenue NE.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered occupants who had already exited the home and informed them that another person and two dogs remained inside. Fire crews immediately initiated search and rescue operations while additional teams began fire suppression, ventilation, and support efforts.

The search team located the remaining occupant and both dogs. Advanced lifesaving measures were performed on the individual, who was transported to Trinity Hospital for injuries sustained in the fire. Efforts were also made to resuscitate the dogs; one survived, while the other did not.

All five fire stations in Minot responded to the incident. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
