The Minot Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 211 St. Peter Ave in southeast Minot early Wednesday morning at 12:06 a.m.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy flames coming from a detached garage at the rear of the property. Fire crews confirmed that all occupants had safely evacuated the home before beginning fire suppression efforts.

The garage, where the fire originated, was fully engulfed and is considered a total loss, along with its contents, including two vehicles. The fire also caused damage to the siding of the home and a neighboring garage. However, firefighters successfully prevented the flames from spreading inside these structures.

No injuries were reported among civilians or firefighters. Once power was restored, firefighters confirmed that the home’s heating system remained operational, allowing the residents to stay in their home.

The fire response included three engine companies, two truck companies, and one command unit.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
