Former Minot AFB commander to lead Global Strike Command
Air Force Global Strike Command marked a major transition this week as Gen. S.L. Davis took the helm, succeeding Gen. Thomas Bussiere during a ceremony at Barksdale Air Force Base. Davis, formerly the Air Force’s Inspector General, now leads more than 36,000 airmen and two legs of the nation’s nuclear triad — a mission he called central to every U.S. war plan. His arrival carries a local connection, too: Davis becomes the second former commander of Minot’s 91st Missile Wing to rise to this post, underscoring the base’s long-standing role in strategic deterrence. Eloise Ogden with Minot Daily News has the full story.
