MAGIC Fund to consider AGT expansion investment

Minot-based AGT Foods is once again expanding its footprint—and its role in the global pulse-based food market. The company is seeking $269,230 in interest buydown support from the MAGIC Fund to help finance a $12.75 million expansion of its Extrusion Center of Excellence. With consumer demand for gluten-free pasta on the rise, the project will add three new production lines and increase annual capacity from 4,000 to 20,000 metric tons by the end of 2026.
The Minot Area Chamber EDC is recommending approval of the request, calling it a low-risk investment that strengthens a primary sector employer already deeply rooted in the region. AGT’s continued growth is expected to benefit both local workers and North Dakota’s ag producers. The City of Minot’s MAGIC Fund review committee is meeting this morning to consider the application. If supported, it will advance to Minot City Council for final approval.
