Man Arrested for Setting Fire in Minot Apartment Complex

A man was arrested following a fire incident at an apartment complex in southeast Minot, according to a statement released by the Minot Police Department on August 26, 2025.

Authorities responded to the Meadowlark Apartments on August 25 at approximately 7:59 p.m. after receiving a report of a basket of clothes being set on fire inside an apartment unit. The fire was extinguished by one of the occupants before emergency responders arrived.

The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Chozey J. Morsette of New Town, had left the scene before officers arrived. Probable cause was established for Morsette on six counts of Endangerment by Fire, a Class C felony.

Morsette was located and arrested without incident on August 26 at approximately 3:30 a.m. He was transported to the Ward County Jail.
